This one was the late hatcher from Monday, also from one of the hens that has produced this issue before. It was in pain, and breathing getting ragged. Not any more. About to do my first necropsy. From the outside it looked like nothing had ever passedA drop or two of mineral oil inserted anally can help too.
I've seen similar with early dehydration, with chicks/poults left in a forced air hatcher for too long. By the time they got water, they already had a hardened mass ahead of the anus.
