Sorry, just needed to smack something.

This is my longest multi-quote to date!
The guy i called this AM had text me and asked me about BrEAKING a hens wing, so she wouldnt fly off! I immediatly responded that i absolutly Would Not break anyones wings but i would be more than happy to help him get off to a good start. Hes never had chickens but he breeds cooker spaniels, so he had an understanding of the puppy mill situations that alot of birds are placed in. It was then easy to push him in the right direction. Im saying, use your nice clean set-up as a tool... As well as how your bloodlines are better. Good people do respect how well the parent stock is. I think education about our food and where it comes from helps too. Like: If you posted how your girls will produce for years and years vs 2 years for those hybrids... I tend toward the more in depth ads on CL, i like how those sellers will put info on their flocks out, especially when its Correct info ;) Enough! I know nothing, i am only a child ;)
I just learned about this! It's called "pinioning". You break off a piece of the wing when the duckling is under 12 weeks and they will never fly. People are big on doing it to certain breeds. Personally, I would never do it. Just like I'd never clip a dogs ears. But that's just my 2 cents.
Bad ad: http://greenville.craigslist.org/grd/5257133685.html Good ad: http://augusta.craigslist.org/grd/5268767396.html Misleading ad. This one disappoints me, because he breeds beautiful birds, but they are Easter Eggers: http://greenville.craigslist.org/grd/5273052461.html
Very interesting! I'm not exaggerating but all the ads on my craigslist are like the "bad" ad.
Gimme one of your ads now!
X2! That's what I was going to say!! :gig
Just had a conversation with one of our artists. She wants duck eggs to carve. Blow out, bleach, and carve with a small dremel-like tool. I told her I'd give her some old ones, since she isn't going to eat them anyway, and I'd save her any dirty ones that I normally throw away, since she will bleach them. I can't wait to see what she does with them! Random internet pic:

Wow! That's a real egg!?! If I had LOTS of time on my hands, I would love to learn to do that. Maybe in 20 years when all my kids are in college. It's truly beautiful!
I think Valbazen is .5cc/.5ml for a 6lb chicken, dose once and then again in 10 days... I'll grab the link to the thread Kathy (casportpony) made... she is genius for figuring dosages... You gonna send me those pics then?? :D ;) Would like magpies, but I won't go crazy chasing them, lol... Chocolate Pied?? Now that I could use... hmmmm... Start sweet talking his wife, Ruby... :gig
I would appreciate that. I'll probably pm you when I get ready to do it. Here's the pics he sent me. He was a little flirty, so I should be extra nice! :gig If I can get them and hatch them, can ducks be shipped? (if you were interested)?

I couldn't tell you. Down here an Ohiki is what a redneck girl leaves on her boyfriend
:lau
Thise carved eggs are so pretty! :slap like i want your number! I Never put my number on an ad though, because of the number jackin scammers. Ive called three dozen ads now that the persons number was stolen from their ad. Heres my most recent: https://batonrouge.craigslist.org/grd/5269370514.html Mr Cop made up the price, im not too keen on it and i havent recieved a hit. Discussing how i type em though, lots of info, a little hype, all the info in one place... No phone number!
Thanks for posting this. I plan on advertising on CL come spring, so all of this talk and examples has helped me a lot.
My number is under the reply button. It's bad enough that the local rednecks can find it, but if the Yankees ever get ahold of it...
If I was a woman on a mission, I bet I could find it in under 30 mins. You have no idea the PI skills women have when they need too!! :gig
I'm sure it wouldn't be that hard to find... If I really wanted to look... But I don't. :D
Exactly!! LMBO!
Our neighbors on the duck side don't dare say anything... but I know all our birds irritate them, lol... Call drakes are perfect for a city pet flock... smaller and less messy than regular sized ducks and they're quieter volume wise, but do love to chatter...
I could never have a drake without a mate for it. I'd feel to bad. My neighbor/landlord owns my whole street and he has over a dozen peacocks (what could be louder!) so, if any of my neighbors complained, they'd have to complain to him and I just don't see that happening, I hope! :fl

I didn't say I needed to BE smacked...

but that felt kinda good.

Oh, it would be easy enough to find, and I totally understand the obsessive, fanatic, prove me wrong, stalker type skills that women have

Yeowch!

Nah, you aren't plumbed right to "truly" understand

Be careful. Your husband will wonder who that redneck is that keeps calling every 15 minutes saying "I'd like a number 19, shrimp, extra wasabi"
