chickens in your living room?

I wanna know the sandwich bag and pipe cleaner trick!! There seems to always be a hen in the house for some reason or another (chicks, injury, sick, etc). We have wood floor and I am tired of keeping them on a towel or following them with paper towels.

Recently, an inured hen was inside for about 2 weeks. She REFUSED to potty in the large dog kennel. She would complain (loudly!) until we opened the gate so she could potty on the wood floor!

She would hold it all day until we got home and then poop the size of two eggs!!

I want sandwich baggies and pipe cleaners!!!

OR does someone have a pattern, so I can make my own that Diva has on?

I have always wanted to know how you change a chicken diaper.

Seems that it would get all in their feathers. Just wondering how it works. I think they are so cute with those cute little patterned britches on. I even found chicken booties for their little feet too!!!

Alls I gotta say to all of you that DO keep chickens in the house...better be careful if you have children...someone might call and report you. About 5-6 years ago, when my son was 3 and DD just born,DHR showed up at my house. Said they had a complaint that we had chickens in the house, and they were quite ready to take my children!! I did own chickens, but not one time had they ever been in my house. After looking ALL over my house for "hidden" chickens, then calling and going by almost every persons house we knew,to see what they would say...even called DH EX-wife,they finally closed the case. They never would tell me who made the complaint...said they couldn't. Come to find out, about 1 year later,a girl that I knew, told me it was her sister that done it. Little did I know her Sis had a thing for my DH and was trying to break us up. Anyhow, sorry for the book...just wanted to let you all out there know that the State doesn't like for people to have chickens in your house if you have small kids.

I dont have chickens in the house. But I do have quail. But they dont run loose. Once in awhile I will let one (the favorite) investigate the house a bit. And she rarely poos out of her cage. Guess the big wide world is to scary to poo in.. lol

so I finally PM'ed australorpchick about the pipecleaner thing. I'm dying to hear how that works. When she responds I'll be sure to post!

You get them a chickens diaper. I think the BYC store has them. If not you can find them McMurray, Randall Burkey, etc.
