Chickens lack discipline about water

I keep their water trough clean. Just cleaned it last night. Full of sparkly clean water. A few go there, but...

Where do many go to drink when I let them out??? To the old water I poured into a tree irrigation trough.

Just like my cats. Nice fresh water...from a well so no chlorine. Where do the drink? From a stone driveway puddle that is DISGUSTING.

You know, if we drank from that puddle we would die a horrible death. I can’t believe that ditch water would be much better.
