Mine started dropping weight from the cold, added corn & oatmeal to their diet. I feed my Lady Hens Kreamers organic feed usually on sale at TSC. Today it's so cold, they were stressed & on the floor in a corner huddled under the nesting boxes. So I got the hubby out & fixed the door to cut the draft down, and put straw along the walls under the nesting boxes. The North wind was blowing so hard this morning, it kept blowing the door open. Also, put a heat lamp in (125w)and clamped & hooked it and wrapped the cord for safety. Had to unplug the water bowl. If it freezes, I'll have to put the 250w bulb in. Bringing the feed in to thaw an hour before I feed them. Deadly cold until Sunday. It's been too cold for too long. So happy to see them get back on their perches.
