chickens LOVE cabbage

I bought a couple of those hanging feeders and stuck a head of cabbage on it. They ate it completely after watching it for a couple of days. I waited about 1 week and I took another one and the dang near knocked me down. It was gone in 2 hours! My question is how often can you give them fresh veggies

I believe they should have access to as many greens as they want. They will take what they need and no more. Some people say "don't offer more than 10% treats." That may be true, considering what the treats are. In my house and yard, veggies are not "treats," they are food.

Just got my Littles some cabbages the other day. Fortunately, mine pace themselves .

thanks, like I said they really go after it. Maybe when the new wears off they will slow down. I also split a pumpkin and they liked it too. They still haven't touched the sweet potato

Not trying to hijack, but mine also REALLY love all of the following (in addition to Cabbage):

• Cucumbers
• Cauliflower and Broccoli
• Blueberries
• Grapes
• Pumpkin

I too would not necessarily consider any of this a 'treat' just supplemental feed to their commercial all-flock poultry feed.

i did squash, pumpkin, cabbage, now I'm trying sweet potato and red apples. they are still looking at them lol
