Hens go broody when you don’t want them to… and won’t go broody when you do. 
I have 11 hens which include barred rocks, SL wyandottes, and partridge rocks. They are from Meyers, 1 year old this month, and laying well. I need to get rid of them because I am moving and will give them away, along with a good-size metal feeder, large waterer, and a heated waterer. I live in northern Wisconsin in the Minoqua/Eagle River area and will not deliver, so you should be close enough to pick them up.
