I want to go to this meeting by the time the chicks are 3 weeks old. I don't want to have them illegally and have to remove them. They'll be out of the brooder at 4 or 5 weeks, depending on the temperature and their strength. I will need a few weeks to build a 12x9 coop with a 10x18 run. (If they all make it, there will be 12, but I'm building for 36 so I can expand if a hen goes broody. 2 or 3 eggs look like they were laid by silkies.
I need 26 more Chicken Enablers. I have to re-do my math and print the posters out.
I support you! Google Vancouver's new chicken law- passed yesterday. Then Google Buffalo, NY and Long Island, NY and Portland, Seattle and Austin! LA even allows folks to have a rooster!
If you pull up articles showing all of these cities discussing the legality of chickens, you'll be able to demonstrate that much larger suburban and urban areas consider this a reasonable backyard pastime!
