I have a 50lb bag of pellets my flock won't touch. Can I grind it up? Can I use a blender or would I need something else?

I have it in a feeder. Should I switch to feeding a different way? They'll eat it when hungry enough and if they truly starve with food available, maybe it's for the best
Try putting it in a bowl, mixed with water and made into a mash.I have it in a feeder. Should I switch to feeding a different way?
Thank you. I will try that. I've not done a mash before.Try putting it in a bowl, mixed with water and made into a mash.
My hen (8.5 month old black orpington) just started laying 30 Nov so I know they are eating. I just don't want to waste it if I can get them to eat it. Especially with cost of feed.My chickens don’t eat pellets, I tried everything, switching the brand, put some water in it, ferment it, put other stuff ( cottage cheese ) in it, they don’t touch the stuff! The 2 times I gave them nothing but, after 3 Days of fasting, they started pulling each others feather out, after the 2. experiment failed that miserably, I just let them be …. Maybe they are smarter than we, and know it’s not good for them?! Anyway, since I have 10 and 9 year old hens which still lay over 30 eggs in spring, maybe it’s ok not to feed them pellets …
X2!Try putting it in a bowl, mixed with water and made into a mash.
