Chickens not laying eggs for long time

Don't get me wrong. I do clean and feed them and fresh water everyday . I buy the crack corn to feed them before bed. I am cleaning and putting clean pine shaving every week and to be honest I don't mind any of that, what it bothers me is thats no eggs. I spend $70 every month for them, plus electricity and no eggs.

I would suggest that you start a new thread with all the details of your flock.
Numbers, ages, genders or birds.
Exactly what and how you are feeding.
How big in feet by feet is your coop and run.
Your climate/location.

No eggs would bother me as well!

I spend $100 on feed every month and I don't sell my eggs. I hang out with my girls for a few hours each day and that is the pay off for me. But when you quit getting eggs it steals some of the joy for sure.

@aart suggestion to start a new thread might be a good idea.

If you haven't seen them molt this season, maybe they are in the process. For some reason a few of my girls are having a mini molt.

I personally hate powders and feel like breathing them is a danger for me and the chickens.

And I still don't understand why you are doing cracked corn? It's a candy bar! And most of the commercial feed are already made with a majority of corn as the base. Seems like their could be alternative like maybe BOSS or some barley seed (50# is $20ish and 14% protein). Spit peas are high in protein and chicken LOVE them. You can also get those in the #50 bag though I am unsure of cost. But these things go a long way. Even with 50 birds, I am only half way through my barley seed after 6 months.

Since I feed only fermented feed.... I can use regular (layer or flock raiser) pellets as a treat and they think it's great but aren't getting their nutrition diminished.

I might suggest that it's time to add a couple of new layers. Or if you're done with this experience maybe find them a new home (with laying concern disclosure).

Good luck!
