Chickens not laying eggs

a couple of them yes, but does it last for several months?
My birds don't lay again until late winter/spring after their annual molt. My older ones molt earlier in the year as well, so they may molt in July or August, and not lay again until maybe Feb or March. Dunno where you're located but if you have very short daylight hours in winter that might be what's happening.

I’m in california but that gives me hope they will lay again. thank you!

I would hang some Christmas lights and add 2 cups Feather Fixer to their daily feed. It worked for me last year. In winter they need a "light jump start" if coming out of fall molting, otherwise no eggs until spring.
