I'm thinking I could actually get rid of the poop boards if I put sand in the coops. Maybe come spring, I will make the big changeover!

We have six chickens, 6 feet of 2x4 on edge for them to roost. They cram into about 1 1/2 feet of roost with 2 or three on the bar and a few under them on the poop board. It's still about 50 degrees out so it shouldn't be a temperature thing. Go figure.

Mine were sleeping stacked 3 deep in the corner of the coop when I first put them in. I thought they would start roosting after a bit but a month later still on the floor so I started going out there after dark and putting a couple on the roosts. After a few nights they got the hang of it
