Chickens ran away when touched?

You will never get to touch the chickens.
but you can teach them to like being touched by catching them and holding them on your lap
pet them , you will have to force it at first.
but once they get used to it, they don't mind

MY BUFF ORP actually peck my feet to be picked up...she can sit it my lap for hours if i let her, and my silver laced wyandottes, i cant get near them
That’s the opposite of mine. My SLW will jump up on my lap and she doesn’t mind I pet her while I hand feed her treat! My Buff would just ran away and observed the others eating treat out of my hand!

Thank you! I will try that and will update.

All my big girls from 3-7 years love me and think I am their queen..lol..human rooster, I think. They squat and are easy to catch. My 9 week olds scatter. They are Cochins and still don't appreciate being touched. They follow the grain and run to bed when called but no hugs..lol..they do like to touch my hair and visit if I put my head down by their perch. On their terms..brats
