Chickens sleeping in nest boxes

Going inside will change when they start laying and they will not lay at night unless you keep a light on them night and day which you don't want to do 6" is not enough space so scratch that you need at least the height of your chickens plus 4" of space above the roost could you put it on the opposite side of the coop from the nestboxes
I’ve created school children! My hens won’t go back into the coop unless the lights are on like kids seeing the street lights are on and know it’s time to go home. They become disoriented without them and the next thing I know they’re clustered around wherever there’s lighting which is usually my front porch! Hate that so how do I correct my mistake of leaving lights on all the time please? Thank you all!

Keep them in their pen and put them in at night until they learn where their sleeping place is.

Does the coop have a pop door that closes? Keep the light on inside to lure them into the coop, then when it's dark and they're all settled inside, turn off that light and shut and secure the door.

They will be upset for a few days at the change - just let them be upset. They'll eventually get used to it.
