Chickens staying out in the dark

Centrarchid and CarolAnn,
thanks a lot for the advice! I installed a light Friday evening that turns on just before it gets dark and stays on for a couple of hours after that. Have not had any problems with chickens not finding their way into the coop since then. I am soooo glad to have found this forum where I can learn from all of you with tons of experience! I think you solved my problem

I installed the light (with a timer) over a week ago. They all go in at night!

Works like a charm. Thanks everybody for the good tips!

Same here. Got a light and timer, otherwise I was finding them all huddled together on top of the duck shelter. The ducks would go into their house, but until I had a light on in the coop, the chickens never seemed to figure it out!
