I have 6 chickens ( Araucana and Rhode Island Red) in small hoop. Have heater lamp ( t inside isn't lower 3C) and water bowel with heater. Chicken like to walk outside every day. After t became lower 0 C, Rhode Island Red stopped to lay eggs. Araucana continue to lay good at night even at -8C outside . What to do?

Sometimes chickens need a break from laying eggs, especially if they are molting. Give them some time, they should start laying again in the spring.

Add lighting. I add a lamp with a timer to turn on a few houts early each morning then turn off during the day and back on again a few hours after sunset to extend "daylight" hours to 15. Even in breeds that lay well in winter, this trick usually helps. Allow up to 2 wks for to start seeing eggs again

I am experiencing the same thing. RIR not laying while the EE laying as ever. It might be that the EE are more cold hardy so they can spend more energy laying eggs instead of keeping them self warm. They have a light keeping them warm so it is not a lighting issue.
