Chickens that don't like Mealworms?

Bought a bag of mealworms as recommended by our store when our ISA Browns were just a few weeks old. They refuse to eat them. I keep trying, maybe one chicken takes a peck at one and breaks a piece off, never comes back for more. They love live bugs of any kind so they certainly seem interested in some protein, just not the mealworms. Strange!

They are my chickens favorite treat. I didn't give them any until they were older though. My chicks favorite treat was egg yolks.

Give them a little time. When mine were about that age they didn’t care for them either. I tried a week or two later and they realized it was a yummy treat!

............You found it IN the mealworms? That's DISGUSTING. If that were me, I'd throw out the whole bag!

Yep! Half way through the back and I pulled it out the other day with a handful of the worms! Lol

My flock doesn't like meal worms. They prefer the live ones, but they kind of like Grubblies.

Forgot to say that mine are now about 15 weeks. Still no interest. Maybe when they start laying? I'll hold on to the bag for a few more weeks

Many of my chicks didn't like them at first. It's an acquired taste with some of them, I guess. Now, I store them in the freezer. They make a nice cold treat during the hot summer months.
