Chickens under attack!!

Oh NOOOO!!!! That's one of my worst fears, too!! I agree with trapping and relocating, however, be sure to find out the laws where you live so you can't get in trouble, whatever and wherever you are trapping, and also, luckily in the fall, most babies born this spring and summer and nearly adults and are on their own or soon to be. The worst is when you trap an animal only to find it's entire family is left behind, then you have to deal with that.
And even though they are chicken predators, there are laws, trapping seasons, etc, so just cover your hiney Good luck!!

Doesn’t matter anyway. Mink have huge home ranges and will travel many miles in a night especially during late winter/breeding season.
There’s no shortage of mink where you’re at.

Yes you are right about that. It's actually pretty incredible that I have not had problems before considering our location. I am thinking about building a bigger secure run and giving up letting them out in the yard during the day. Our neighbor doesnt seem to have a problem but he has a rooster *illegal lol

I wouldn’t give up letting them out. Just catch the mink in a body grip trap like is used in the mink box I posted earlier. You can make or buy a box with a smaller circular opening that only a mink or weasel can get into. This way there’s no way to catch any non target animals. Easy peasy.

Drowning is not quick. It's several minutes of agonizing pain as lungs fill with water, of the animal panicking and hurting itself trying to claw out of the trap. Longer if the animal manages to hold its breath, which mink can. They spend however much time that earns them panicking and trying to escape. It's slow, it's painful, it's terrifying. It's an unacceptable way to kill something, no matter what that something is.
Again, weasels are not evil. They are animals, they are incapable of malice. They follow their instincts, and their instincts drive them to sharpen their hunting skills in times of plenty to prepare for times of want. They aren't seeking out your friends to slowly kill them. It isn't their fault and you shouldn't treat them like it's their fault.
If you decide that the best way to deal with a pest is to kill it, do it humanely, no matter what that animal is and what it's done.

Invest in a trap. Then dispatch them. This year for me has been crazy with skunks. #10 just went to heaven. Crazy never had this big a problem. They keep coming I keep trapping. Best wishes

We had noticed quite awhile back that we had a skunk problem. I caught over a dozen skunks in several days and one night I got 2 skunks in one trap. A friend of ours overheard some people in the local doughnut shop in town that there were some people catching skunks and dropping them off in our area. I talked with our local fish and game and was told I could shoot them and that they weren't protected. One skunk was attempting to dig under the gate to the chick pen. The pop door was shut and there were some chicks outside in the pen. I attempted to run the skunk off but it turned towards me and stomped it's feet at me like it was telling me to get lost. I went in and got my gun.

Weasels are terrible I agree they kill everything in the coop. I have heard raccoons will do the same but in my experience they steal a bird one by one. Weasels seem to kill just for the sake of killing

Racoons don't eat even drag them away or eat them. They'll bite of the heads, butt, wings, and straight into the breast. If we catch a predator, it will immediatly be dead for us.
