Chickens vs property values (article from St Louis Post)

I officially enjoy being a hick from the boondocks, if that's what you have to put up with! Your tarps don't match!!!! What a load of horse hockey!

I live in the sticks, and there are people who moved here who must have wanted to turn it into the 'burbs, because there is even one couple who mowed the lawn of a foreclosed house in the subdivision 1/4 mile away so it wouldn't look so awful as he turned into our subdivision!!!

I'm getting harassed by neighbors about my chickens, and my bylaws allow it...I posted a long drawn out rant today...

Glad there are people fighting for having our feathered friends!!!

thank you for the article. I copied it, and now will add it to my arsenal of literature for our city's council.

There are many evenings when we put the chickens to "bed" in their coop and then go inside and sit on the couch only to hear the dogs a street over barking their heads off at nothing!!! I have yet to have a chicken keep me up when trying to rest. Not that the dogs bother me either, I could sleep through almost anything!!!

Nice article though.

I was quite cheered this week to see an online conversation about the latte-sipping organic-gardening chicken-owning elites. Give it a year or two and I bet owning chickens will be a status symbol, raising property values left and right.
