They huddled under the raised coop so hubby had to crawl under every night, retrieve each one, and put them inside on the roost. Then someone told us to lock them in for a few days and nights. That worked! Then when I got 2 more birds months later the new girls simply followed the older experienced girls inside. Months later, 2 more new girls, they didn't follow! However after placing them inside the first night they started putting themselves to bed.
I'd put your birds inside with food and water (remove food and water at night), lock the door, and leave them there for 4days to a week. They need to know this is their safe place. They begin to recognize this as home.
