Chickens won’t roost on new roost

Get rid of the ramp make them fly to the roost. And having a light on during dusk will help them navigate to the roost.
If they’re not using the roost, i doubt they’ll “fly up” not to mention this roost is about 3ft off the ground and my birds barely fly unless it’s for treats. I would rather them walk up the ramp then hurt themselves.

All chickens can easily fly 3 feet.
Okay and i’m not letting them hurt themselves getting onto a roost. Like i said, the only time they will fly is when their 20 feet away and i call them for treats. If they’re not using the roost now, what makes you think they’re going to fly up to roost? Wouldn’t they have already flown up to roost already???

I’m not trying to be rude but this is like day #4 and telling me “just make them fly” isn’t going to work with my birds🤣 if they would’ve flown up they would be roosting every night.

Another thing, i couldn’t find ribbon for the life of me at my house

Tie a feather to a bit of thin string -- like the string from a feed bag.

All chickens can easily fly 3 feet.
But anyway, just a suggestion.

No, not all can.

Even when motivated by the thought of a treat some other bird was getting, the Light Brahma I sold last month at 2 years old couldn't clear more than about 18" maximum. :)

Well we’re one step closer….
