Chickens won't stop sitting on the nest. NEED HELP

anything that keeps her from the nest should do. Are your others still using the nest box to lay or have they started hiding them, as you feared they would?

I have a very large nesting box set-up. There are 16 boxes total. 8 on top,8 on bottom. Tried to have 1 box for every 2 chickens. They all like the bottom boxes although they are starting to use the upper ones. My chickens are penned in. We have predators. Although none have bothered them. This chicken likes 1 particular box. Might close it up for a few days.

If you don't think it's too messy then you can break the eggs and let the broodies find the broken eggs.

If they see the eggs they realize that they can't hatch chicks but it doesn't work for all hens some are just to stubborn.

Ok that sounds gross I tried it once it worked for one of the hens.
