I'm not sure I can make the swap on the 9th but I do have a special needs pullet I would like to place. As a result of an injury she has very limited use of one leg. She still manages to get around perfectly fine and I suppose it's even possible she may manage to perch at night if she sets her mind to it.

Because of her handicap she needs to be in a flock that does not have a resident roo. A calm, backyard flock of girls only would be best. Free to a home that suits her needs. PM or email me for further details.

I have baby Seramas hatching!!

I went out to open the pop doors this morning---and as i walked by the window, i was surprised to see a new baby running around inside! I wasn't expecting them to start hatching for at least 2 more days, and i thought i would have time to clean and put fresh litter in the chicken tractor this weekend.

Oh, well, i cleaned this morning.....and found a second baby hiding under mom! Mom is sharing the nest with her sister, and they still have a pile of eggs (both are tending to). The sister only went broody early this week, so i expect she will continue sitting on the eggs---she kept adding eggs the whole time the first mom was brooding, so the hatch will be staggered at best!

Anyway, i will have some Serama chicks to rehome---i don't have space to keep all the babies this winter----so i expect to be bringing them to this next swap.

Oh no! How very sad! UGH! Darlene told me the one she got from me was doing great. I will certainly give you first pick of what i have--- and i'll give you a deal. We probably won't know colors until they feather in. I did switch the roosters right after i took away the last babies....so my dark roo is breeding my light hens, and my light roo is breeding my dark hens. The two chicks that hatched so far---one is yellow with a dark back and head, the other is a brownish color. I'm posting pics in the chicken chatter forum (it's easier).

I also may be interested in a couple! I had 3 babies hatch out to a new momma just this morning too and I think maybe I can sneek them in with her at night so I dont have to run a brooder? I will take a look after Shay looks and takes her pick if no one else has contacted you yet. I think the one I got from you is also a girl too! She loves the serama roo and black silkie pullet, she sleeps with them all the time!

Chickie'sMoma :

i may have a 3/4 bantam cochin x 1/4 silkie pullet for the next swap. has the wonderful puffy look of a black cochin with a little bit of lacing under her chin, i just wish she got the fully red earlobes the breed is supposed to have! she has been laying since early July. she was hatched in February so she's about 7 months old now. i'll get a pic tomorrow if you're interested.

i may also have a bantam barred cochin cockerel if i can get it confirmed on the gender-no crowing yet

. he/she has been sweet and loves to jump in my lap when i bring treats in the afternoons! but the neck feathers and red comb/wattles have been hinting that it may be a boy.
hmm.png
i bought him/her from Darbella (i think?) back in May and it should be about 4 months old now.

ok, i finally got that pic of Cersie for you!
