Thanks keesmom, that is actually where I got her name. She was right over in the next town, and would've been ideal (plus she was listed as having lavender, my favorite color- bonus!). Anything else is going to be further away, but they are my next plan!

ETA: ok, I just emailed the other 2 possibilities... chicks and keets in Holland MA about 45 min away, and one in Durham CT (about 1 hour and 15 min).

ETA again, lol... the one in Durham CT has some available (haven't heard back from the closer one yet, will wait to see what they say). But what do you think this means "some have blue highlights"??? They aren't blue, have "blue highlights", what color do you think they are?

I LOVE HALLOWEEN, and all the flavors of food that come with this time of year.

I can't wait to come to this swap

The local farm stand has hay and straw for $8.50 per bale. Is this a good price or can I find it less somewhere else around Ayer? Any hints would be great!

Thanks!

Becky~

after reading something about doing crop surgery i heard it was bad to use it in the coops since the birds would eat it and get stuck. i've been doing a mix of shavings and straw and after reading/seeing the surgery stuff i am switching over to the shavings for the coops the next time i do a full clean out in the next couple of weeks! i'm not sure on the mite thing.

I only use shavings in the coop. Straw for gardens - hay has a lot of weed seeds.

I wish we could make the Halloween one. The kids would love to dress up early , but we'll be in Maine that weekend.

Oh yeah, Chickie'sMoma my bantam BBS favs arrived today! I'll try to post pics tomorrow.
