I was just thinking the same thing. Boy, too bad we can't make this one (ha,ha). Now no one is going to bring Turkey's for Westford, correct???

There has just been lots of Turkey talk here and have a feeling we are gonna end up with one, or two or three......

There were some nice Jersey buff turkeys at the last one, and muffi's little ones.

The guy with the Jersy Bufffs is who I got my original Trio from.. he has some really nice turkeys get nice and big for a heritage breed.
I think My Buff Tom right now goes about 30 lbs I know I had to get hubby to pick him up when the tester came out. I just couldnt do it lol.

In a few weeks I should have Narrigansetttes,, Midget, and Buff Poults stilll
The turkeys are still layiing and I am still incubating the little bug eaters. so there shouldnt be too much of a shortage lol.

Plus I still have hatching eggs available.

The poults you got from me were hatched 2/3, 2/17 and/or 2/24. I'll let you do the math! =P

ok so 7 to 9 weeks old lol
Math first thing in the morning, are you kidding me, nope, not me too stupid for that this early , got a calander and counted LOL.

""How much are the midget white toms?

Are they loud? And how big are they? I have 2 three or four week olds from Muffi (one of each we think!) and I'm loving them. Do the tom's get loud and crazy in the next few weeks? Anyone know if they will fight with each other if there is only one female between now and thanksgiving?""

The Poults will be $15.00 each

not as loud as chickens , quieter than my Buffs and Narri's, and definately more quiet than 7 geese.
See turkey noise is all dependant on your tolerance level. I love hearing the toms gobble, and gobble wars are neat but if you have raw nerves well it can get irritating.
How big , hmmm well they are still small yet. the heritage breeds grow slower than the BB type birds.

they can and will fight if there is only a hen to share. usually its more display but if they are serious about breeding then the battles can get bloody and brutal.
The up side is they wont be really ready for breeding until next spring so you should be all set if they are going to freezer camp by november.
I will try to get pictures today of their size, it always cracks me up to see such tiny poults poof and display.

BUMMER, but better for the birds and your yard! LOL...plus people should have more to pick from then! I have been reading all the turkey talk and I really love my littel trio of Midgets I got from Muffi! They love to talk to me when I go into the studio. I cant wait for the weather to warm up sp they can go out doors and enjoy the sun. Muffi, I thought you had given me a date of March 3rd for my girls? or am I thinking of another bird from someone else??? Well, hopefully my bators will have lots of babies poppin out, I have quite the assortment of things hatching. Lots of OEGB's, Nacked necks in smooths and frizzles, silkies, quail d'anvers, seramas, tiny bantam mixes and some more I cant remember wht at this moment. Oh ya, some white face black spanish banties too!
