I'm a newbie to these forums and definitely new to swaps. Heard about Townsend from Chicken Chatter. Thought I'd stop in this Sunday to look for some more pullets and see if anyone's interested in my young RI Red Roo. He's very nice, just not allowed to have one in my neighborhood!

I'm so sad. I just got a beautiful healthy blue Ameraucana last Thursday, after losing my EE the previous Sunday to a predator, and this morning my blue was dead, laying in the nest box. If that wasn't bad enough, somewhere between 3:45 and 6:15 my RIR roo totally disappeared, no feathers left behind, nuthin. My romantic imagination thinks he went looking for his fave gal.
So HenPen, I'll take all the Ameraucanas you bring to the swap. And from now on, my dwindling flock will be in lockdown from 3 pm to bedtime. I only have one EE layer left (Babs), and two EE pullets (Survivor and Kramer), one of which is a scissor beak, with incredible determination to survive. I've rigged a special feeder to make it easier for her to eat . The two I lost today weren't even here long enough for me to name them.
I think I deserve a glass of wine tonight.

Hi there, I would be interested in tomatoes and a large zuccini that I can stuff. it is so hard to find a large one in a store! My neighbor had me mind her garden a few years ago while they went to Spain for a month and she told me to help myself so nothing would spoil. Well, I picked a zuccini that was as big as my thigh and as long as my thigh also!!! We halved it and stuffed each half with rice, hamburg and then topped it with sauce and some grated chees and I am itching to do that again!

Darbella- we're growing a zucchini just for you! It's about the size of my forearm right now, can't wait to see how big it is on Sunday.
As for my consolation glass of wine last night- I used a water goblet, so one glass DID finish off the bottle. *hic* I was up all night worrying about the roo that might possibly still be alive, and about the safety of all of my barn cats. As soon as I have a free minute between work, school and veggies, I have to build a run. *sigh* I really wanted them to free range.
