Oh no! How very sad! UGH! Darlene told me the one she got from me was doing great. I will certainly give you first pick of what i have--- and i'll give you a deal. We probably won't know colors until they feather in. I did switch the roosters right after i took away the last babies....so my dark roo is breeding my light hens, and my light roo is breeding my dark hens. The two chicks that hatched so far---one is yellow with a dark back and head, the other is a brownish color. I'm posting pics in the chicken chatter forum (it's easier).

I also may be interested in a couple! I had 3 babies hatch out to a new momma just this morning too and I think maybe I can sneek them in with her at night so I dont have to run a brooder? I will take a look after Shay looks and takes her pick if no one else has contacted you yet. I think the one I got from you is also a girl too! She loves the serama roo and black silkie pullet, she sleeps with them all the time!

Darlene, i will put you on my list.

I have 3 babies so far, but i will keep being patient, as i know that the second mom kept adding eggs to the nest after the first mom went broody. both are still tending the nest. Then i have the third mom on her own nest, she's about halfway through setting now. 20 eggs between the 3 moms, so i sure am hoping that more will hatch! I am noticing that these babies seem to be bigger when they hatch, compared to the first time around last July. I think i figured out why....I read in my book that it takes at least a month after a pullet starts laying the first time for the eggs to reach full size, so they suggest not trying to hatch anything until the eggs are full size. Well, my girls have minds of their own (they didn't read the book), and they decided to go broody a bit too soon----they were still between 5 and 6 months old and they'd only been laying for maybe 2 weeks when they went broody the first time. I'm thinking that could have contributed to only 50% hatch rate, and perhaps the babies didn't grow as well (could be why Shay lost hers?). The eggs are full-size this time, and the moms are more experienced, and the babies sure are looking good so far!

here will be a donation jar out for a very specail pup who needs everyones help, I love animals and i know if i had a pet that needed surgery to be able to live a long and happy life with no complications i would all in my power to help my pet, but i know we all love animals But there are specail peapele out there that take in rescue animals, and care for them as there own ( i know i would love to do that) But when it comes time to care for a pet that needs a surgery done that is cost a lot of money someone times those animals rescuers needs some help as well, With that said Here is a story a plea for help to help this cute adorible dog from a freind here on byc a freind to all of us and my freind.

(Popeye still needs help...If your able Please help, Popeye is a 14 month old, French Bulldog in need of surgery & I am reaching out to everyone to try to help him.As many of you know I privately do rescue,Popeye was recently surrendered and is in need of surgery for a Luxated Patella(loose knee cap) once the surgery is done & he has healed he should live a normal life. The surgery was quoted at between $1300-$1500 and that does not include his neuter which he also needs done as soon as possible.Once healed he will also be looking for a loving forever home. Please feel free to share this post and if anyone needs more information or to find out how to help him please email [email protected] Thanks!)
