Maybe it's been too cool? I've had problems with my chicken eggs until recently.

i don't know....maybe. This is our first year with ducks, and also our first try incubating eggs. I was just shocked to find out that every single egg is clear---nothing happening at all. Of course my little Seramas hatched babies in December, and again just recently. I think they would have hatched in January and February if i let them, but i took the eggs. It was very cold in December, and i had to rescue the babies and raise them in the house after losing 2 to the bitter cold. But there was nothing wrong with their fertility! I mean i just got 3 out of 3 that hatched this last round of Serama babies! I guess ducks are differnt than Seramas. Hopefully soon, we'll get some fertile duck eggs---i have had people asking for ducklings for a month now, and i said not before April. At this rate it will not be before May. I hope they don't get tired of waiting and go buy ducklings somewhere else! Anyway, it's out of my control---i can't make my ducks mate.

So it happened again neighbors dogs got out again killed my beautiful white cochin bantam cockerel and tore feathers from others i am so po ed and so sad for cochin he was so sweet i was so ripping i was even swinging a two by four at the dogs

You must be so sad and fuming all at the same time. That's just awful. I hope you feel better soon and hope the others are safe from the dog.

No thanks on mixed eggs, we are mating only our pure pairs, plus crossing our Buff with Blue Swedish. I'll just have to be patient and hopeful that they get it figured out.
All my females are laying like crazy---they all lay almost every single day, so we have plenty of eggs, and every week we are selling surplus eating eggs to one of hubby's co-workers. But i separated a pair and a trio for breeding purposes, and for some reason their eggs have not been fertile. Hubby says he sees them mate, but not a single egg developed anything so far. I will check again this week and see if fertility has improved at all.....

Thanks guys so far no others are showing no signs of hurt on good news my sebbis are starting to lay woohoo and my cochin bantams and my buff duck yay
