What color chick was she? All yellow or chipmunk?

Edited to add: And what hatchery?

all yellow like the salmon favs. Meyer. i might call them and see what they think it is.

My guess is a Buckeye, based on the color and pea comb. One would expect a reddish tint to the back of the chick, but perhaps hatchery stock is lighter, like with rhode island reds.

My friend raises buckeyes and they are more of a mahogany coloring. This looks like something of a milli coloring coming in.

Well, she might have had a slight reddish tint as a baby, now my memory is a bit foggy. When i got my order, i counted everyone up by breed, and i was short one SF, but then i had this chick. She looked like the other SF---some have come with a slight reddish tint, but they are generally yellow. HOWEVER, she only had 4 toes and no feathering on her feet. I lost a few SF in the first 48 hrs , so called to get credit on them under the hatchery guarantee. I mentioned this chick to the woman, and she said sometimes SF are born missing the extra toes and foot feathering. SInce these are layers, i'm fine with that. But now that she is feathering in, this chick is obviously NOT a SF, plus i realised that she does not have a single comb like SF. She has to be another breed, i just have no clue what. We named her Mystery Chick! LOL

I thought Mille fleur was bantam....do they have large fowl ones too? This is a large fowl chick.

Mille fleur is a color, not a breed. There can be MF coloring in D'Uccles, Oegb, cochin, serama and more.

That is the reason I find it weird that a hatchery would be selling them.
