I have a pair of nice black bantam cochins that I can bring to either Westford or Townsend. Will post pics tomorrow.

I will be putting together a list of lots of birds I need to sell off. I need to downsize AGAIN due to recurring medical issues - so frustrating!

Oh I am sorry to hear about your health! I to just went through a very long medical issue. I was bed ridden from Nov to Feb spending most my time at Tufts medical in Boston. I just got back on my feet and lost a lot of birds bc my husband had to sell some off due to the feed bills and he spread himself to thin caring for me at the same time

But, I would love to see some pics of your black banties! How old are they? Are they tested for AI and S. Pullorum?

Thank you,
-B-

I'm sorry to hear about your medical stuff too. I would go crazy being in a hospital that long!

The banties are just under a year. Everyone was tested a couple weeks ago and came out clean. Still waiting to hear back on getting my NPIP... the guy listed as the MA contact never emailed me back.

Anyway, I will post pics tomorrow and you can have first dibs.

Have a good night.

Also, most of the people who sell at Westford are not BYC members. So what you see people list here is a small fraction of what is actually brought for sale. You never know what you'll find.

So would you say there are at least got as many chickens for sale as the boston poultry show? How do you all set up there to sell? I know you mentioned paying dues that I don't mind but I guess I need a better picture of it to decide. Its a 3 hour drive and for me to get there by 7:30 I would have to leave 4:30am! Whoa that sure is early eh? I really was going to go to The show to sell my silkie chicks due to hatch tomorrow and some araucana chicks. Of course I have two adults to sell too. Then I have 10-12 ducklings that will be 3 wks old. So Darbella and Keesmom which one would you go to if the URI thingy wasn't an issue and you based it on sales? I appreciate any feedback. Thanks, Beth

Beth, it is a hard call, there are mostly game birds like pheasants and ducks at Westford, more so that chickens, Oh and TONS of pigeons!!!!!! Lots of cage birds and laying hens. As far as good breed selections, I think the show is the better bet.

Hi,
I have all rumpless true araucanas. If you get a chance take a peek at my page. I might have some month old chicks forsale if I don't sell them locally

Also if you're looking to sell specialty breeds like you have you may have better luck at a show. Main reason I probably won't go to the show isn't because of respiratory things, it's gas prices. Westford is 15 minutes from here, Oxford is an hour.

Thanks Everyone for your help. I guess it sounds like I should do the Westford thingy and take a beating on the gas

I really do need to get some more P.R. going with my Araucana's and Blue Bantie Cochins. If I enter them in the show and prey they do well, it may help with selling offspring. I have the cutest rumpless double tufted babies from them! I can belive have fast they are growing. I also have a bunch of chicks to weed through. I have 40 chicks due tomorrow and most of them are my Blue's and Blue partridge silkies. I will miss you at this one but, I hope to see you all very soon!! Whats the next spot for you Keesmom and Darbella after the May 1st swap. Where Ya'll headed next

ps I will be boosting their immunity prior to the show and doing some serious biosecurity both at the show and when I return. I hope if I am really a pest and do not let folks touch the birds and I handle them for them? Also, I may bring some VetRX and put it on their nostrils and in the water so they have some extra boost to stay healthy. Then all birds will be quarantined for 2+ weeks when we get home

Westford on May 1, Shay's on the 15th, then Westford again in June. I will try to go to the fall show in Oxford. It's a much larger event then.

Here is the pair of black bantam cochins I have for sale. The girl is an amazingly sweet and curious puff ball, just under a year old. She has been "well loved" so is missing some feathers on the back of her head. The boy is around 6 months, I believe. They are unrelated from separate show stock.
