Chickentrain's Dog Q&A

I almost nothing about horses. I have a moderate understanding of how to tack up, I can walk, halt, and do a sitting and posting trot, and I know how to lead them properly. (I still struggle with mounting without a mounting block, though) Can we start a "RiverOtter's or DLHOCNT's Horse Q&A"?

Oh I know nothing about horses other than riding them for 3 years

i can ride a horse all right, but nothing fancy

Thanks guys. I'm actually broken hearted over the bay. That's Bracken and I just lost her after a sudden illness. Vet thinks cancer complicated things and there was nothing we could have done. I had her for 10 years and she was a truly amazing horse, who taught many people how to ride and could do therapeutic riding.

I am delighted to still have her one and only foal (Blarney's grandson, actually) Rohan

She is gorgeous, I'm so sorry that you lost her.

My favorite horse that I've ridden I think is a color called dun? He's a gold color with a darker stripe down his spine and kinda on his face. He has a dark brown mane and tail. His name is Yukon, like a potato.

I've been thrown once, when something outside of the ring spooked my horse. He bucked and I went flying. We were coming out of a posting trot, so I was not ready for the sudden speed, because we had been slowing down.
