Now you guys are scaring me! Tessa didn’t molt this year (too young), but I love her mahogany and iridescent black feathers! I hope she doesn’t go too white too soon.

You still have so much cover and forage! I am jealous.
It is hard to capture the glory of his tail and hackles. They shimmer and shine in green and blue and purple and he is beginning to grow some white spots on his fluffy butt.
Today he actually called the hens that he had ‘found’ blueberries and he even gave one to Geronimo. Well maybe she just snatched it from his beak, but still, progress!

I do hope you can keep him.
I've been preoccupied with helping my new dog settle in, and haven't been paying as close attention to my flocks the past couple weeks.
And so I did a double-take today. I had two Speckled Sussex roosters almost identical! Neither had a leg ring, so Jacob's must have broken off.
Zaccheus' tail and spurs are longer, but aside from that, his son is the spitting image of him.
I'll try to get photos this week.

Huge comb/wattles already. As Perris says, he'll be well blessed in the head ornament department.
