After talking to the lady in charge of Penny Lane (my mom put the phone on speaker so that I could listen) she seems to be a good fit for us. She needs to work on manners and needs more consistent training than she's had in the past, which I'm sure that we could provide. The one thing is that she's had seizures in the past, with an unknown cause. They suspect that it may be overstimulation but they don't actually know. (she's had three, all in instances with lots of energy and lots going on) I'm expecting that my dad won't want to get a dog that we can't meet in person (apparently the rescue is based in New York but the dog is in Texas) with a known medical issue

yikes.. seizure meds are expensive, and it will be hard to keep a dog calm all the time..

and with your needs, I'd like you to meet a dog in person, too

It's only three instances of seizures in the one ish year of life, so it's not like epilepsy or a super common happening, but yeah, and an MRI to see what's going on would be a huge cost

From what the lady said, this is a super happy dog that loves everyone that she meets, but wasn't trained very well and has poor manners

I think I have decided maybe I want a sheltie as a first dog, followed by a Mpoo?

Apperently poodles are VERY hard for first time puppy owners.

I think they're up there with Dalmatians and whiskies with being strongheaded

yep. I thought " I can handle it"... but i think i might need to start with a easier puppy to raise...

bruh there are some in my agility class who are SO annoying, but thats just bc their owners dont tell them to shut the heck up
