APBT's came first. Then in 1936 (I think) around 50 UKC registered APBTs were accepted into the AKC stud book under a new breed name. Staffordshire Terrier. That was later changed to American Staffordshire Terrier.

I didn't look at their dogs, but essentially they are the same. Each breed just went in different directions with their breeding. Which is why there are differences now.

Used to breed them. I've also bred SBTs and Am. Bullies. I just have my old Am. Bully stud now. Had him altered about 5 years ago.

I'm just a big bully fan. Love them all.

The best breeder I knew is also retired. I've been out of the dog world for about 8 years now.
