Well here's my experiment. I didn't know how you change the background color so I just did black. I know it's bad. I tried erasing a part and adding black again but it turned out bad.

Use the other brush choice (The one with the definant edge, not the faded one) when using the paint bucket tool to erase the background.

Click on the large black rectangle at the bottom of the tool thing.

Good job! Just a small thing: It would be easier to read if it didn't fade out so much though.
