Okay so a few days ago one of my chicks (a blue sumatra at almost 2 weeks old) was gasping, limp and wouldn't open his eyes. We treated him with Duramycin in his water for that day and he died that afternoon. He seemed to cough up mucus. Is this a respiratory infection? Soon after I put the rest of the chicks on Duramycin and a day later one of my faverolle chicks had the same symptoms. I gave her the duramycin water and she was fine (eating, walking around, and drinking) that afternoon and for 2 days after that. Yesterday she had the same symptoms and seemed to be having seizures? She was fine last night and this morning but now some of the other chicks are wiping their beaks on the ground.

What is this? And how can I treat it because I thought I'd lose her quite a few times.

Without more information, you're right, there are a lot of things it could be, including a mold issue that an antibiotic will not work on. You are the eyes and ears and people who want to help need a whole picture of the situation. If you can post pictures, it would help. Follow the list on the above link and post the answers as well as anything else you can think of. Temps, weather conditions, any stress they may be facing. this can all play into it and with out knowing everything, you may not get the help you need.
