Just discovered that my indoor cats have fleas......my 6 week old chicks just went outside on Sunday. Odds are favorable that the chicks have fleas now too right? UGH! Suggestions? Thank you!

Fleas are species specific so i don't know if chickens get them or not, but to be on the safe side why not get some poultry dust [very inexpensive] and dust them real good. When I've used it I put the dust into a paper or plastic bag put the chicken inside the bag with their head out side close around the neck and while holding the chicken shake. making sure not to get into their eyes or mouth. don't hold onto just the neck though support the body with your other hand.

Chickens don't get cat fleas. They get "sticktight fleas" which is a different type of flea. Not sure if we have them around her. I think they're more of a southern thing.

Thank you! I was hoping that was the case and am very relieved!
