Chicks are 6 weeks, outside time?

Chickens made it to their coop this morning. It's 60 today but kind of breezy. At first, they hid in a corner. But I went out and talked to them and they came running out to me. They ate/drank and now they are running all over the place. They haven't figured out the ramp up to the top box yet, but they have a bottom box and I made them a broody hen out of wool and a milk crate. Hopefully they will be okay tonight!

I bought a wireless security camera too, so I can watch them whenever I Want :).

Oh dear, I can only imagine! I only have four Golden Sex Link that are 3 weeks old in my den. They are in an old dog crate with boxes and shavings. I put branches in there, which they love to roost on. They are so messy! I started with a 250 watt red heat lamp and recently switched to a 75 watt. I live in San Antonio area so have let them outside during the day when it’s 80 degrees. They love foraging. I can hardly wait till they can stay out; although I will worry about them then!

Ok, I'm new here about chicks. My chicks are staying away most of the time during the day from the heat lamp, they are going into their fifth week. During the day it's 74 in the room. Should I turn the lamp off during the day? I think they're mostly feather out and are cold weather breeds. I have two Barred Rocks, two buff Orpingtons and one Speckled Sussex. I'd leave the door open at night but I'm afraid predators would come in.
