Such a useful thread - thank you. I noticed you candled with the egg sideways. I've just candled for the first time and had a mixed bag of results. On most I couldn't see the air pocket but I did see veining in 5 out of 14 and I'm on Day 7. I'm incubating cream Legbars. I just didn't know if turning it on its side would disrupt anything?!

Turn-em left, right, "upside down", spin them around, they'll be fine. Just be gentle with them.

what humidity do you keep your bator at during incubation and during hatching

I don't measure the humidity actually. I just fill the tray with water, let it dry out for a day, then just fill it up for the hatch time. If the air cells are growing too fast, I fill it more often, if they aren't growing fast enough I let it run dry.
