Chicks are here, Finally. I blame GENERAL DELIVERY.

I echo what everyone else was saying about your writing skills. I was LOL here in Ohio thinking about the look on the NYC faces.

I'm glad they are safe and sound.
The pictures are adorable!

I hate going to the post office. glad your chicks are okay.
btw those are some nice looking chicks!!! keep the pics coming!! i wanna see yo coop!! gitterdun!!!

I can personally guarantee a million chick pictures. Every time they stop cheeping, I run in to look in on them (usually, they are just stuffing their faces!).

Those are great pictures!!!

do you use the flash or not, I can't seem to get a good pic of mine (flash on or off). Your pics look professional - and the chicks are adorable and so calm.

I am so glad your chicks made their trip OK and so sorry you had to go through all that aggravation.
I will NEVER again complain about my little rural post office again-even though my carrier broke my flag off my mail box.
You have to keep us posted on the chicks lives in in the Big Apple-I find it fascinating that you will be keeping chicks in NYC!
Good luck with you new babies.

Thank you! No, I don't use flash. Those were taken with a 50mm 1.4 fixed length lens, so I can open the aperture very wide and get enough light for my photos. I am not a professional photographer, but I would classify myself as a very advanced hobbyist photographer.

It took a bunch of photos until I got a good one of the barred rock. She is a little feistier. I could have taken a million photos of the easter egger as she just settles down as soon as one of us picks her up.

Updated pics!
Tandoori the sweetheart of the bunch

The General. Doing her part of watching over everything. Yesterday I found her asleep on top of the waterer.

Robot. Probably not going to be people-friendly. We'll see if meal worms can change that.

You're right, it's the big city. We live in a town of 12,000; I got a call at 6:20 on the morning of arrival, went right to the postmaster's door where I could hear our chicks peeping on the table right behind the door, and was the only person in line. However, given the transit time from Lebanon, MO to the sticks of New Mexico, one chick was DOA.

Enjoy your big city chicks! You're a trendsetter!
