Chicks Are Here! PICTURES - Dial-up Friendly!

Haha, I planted Zucchini because I use it in hamburger helper (homemade, not boxed) and spaghetti sauce LOL. I would have planted more, but again.... we moved a bit late in the season, and I'm just trying to catch up now, with my corn half the size of the farmers corn behind us. I have lettuce planted in window boxes. I need decide over the winter what I'm going to plant next year, and I've also got to start counting how many pounds of chicken we eat in a year, and order some meat chicks accordingly lol.

/offtopic!

Anyway, the chicks are doing great, they all ended up sleeping under the light spread out, in twos, or in threes... some haven't learnt how to roost in the peatmoss yet LOL so they kind of just..... lie with their head on an especially large piece of peatmoss clump, or on a feeder using it as a pillow, but most are nestling down into the peatmoss haha.

Zucchini in homemade hamburger helper? Sounds interesting - care to share a recipe? I use it in chocolate cake and I'd like to do up some pasta sauce with it too. Also looking forward to having it grilled on the bbq. I've heard it's really good dehydrated so I'm going to try that. For the cake I'm planning on shredding/freezing it so I'll have it on hand.

Our garden is pretty behind too, but we've started eating things out of it in the past week or so. Lettuce, spinach, radishes. THe swiss chard and beets aren't far behind, and I think we'll have potatoes in the next week or so.
