Chicks are soooo messy

Hello,
I have 7 ameracauna chicks that are about 1 week old, and they are sooooo cute

! But anyways I also have 7 5 weekers (3 Rhode Island Reds, 2 Barred Rocks, and 2 Gold Stars) that keep POOPING IN THEIR FOOD!!!

It's soooooo annoying, because every time I clean their food it just gets dirty in a few hours.
Plz help guys I know you can do it

Can you try hanging it so that it isn't resting on the floor? I had to do that with mine because they kept scratching their shavings into it.
 
I would hang it but the problem is it's one of those tray ones with the removable lid with all the little holes in it. I had removed the lid because I thought their heads were too big to get food out of it and they just stood inside it and scratched and pecked at the food like crazy.

You can still raise it without hanging it (you can also still hang it) - just place it up on some blocks (I use pavers) until the lip is at chest level for the chicks and continue to raise it as they grow.

Get a chick feeder with a revolving or spinning hickey do from one end to the other on top. These spinners discourage your chicks from climbing, perching, roosting, or sleeping on the top of their feed trough. As for relieving themselves in their food..... chickens will be chickens and there is nothing else you or I can say or do about that.
