Greetings! I'm a newbie with chicks and our seven are doing great at 4 weeks. Can I leave them in the coop at night now with a heat lamp, if it goes down into the mid 40s? They are not acting cold at all in the coop with heat lamp at 55 degrees outside.

As long as they have an effective heat source, they should do great. I raised babies all winter in my unheated barn and they had a mama hen to keep them warm and toasty.

As long as they've got that heat lamp to keep them warm at night, they'll be fine! I put mine out at 3 weeks, and they are going strong.
