I have a few chick just barley 2 weeks old started breathing a little heavy . Seem fine otherwise eating drinking and running around . If I were to give an antibiotic do you think Terra vet 10 or Veterex is better . I had this problem a short while back and that chick passed but that chick also was very lethargic theses guys are not .

I see you haven't gotten an answer on this. How are they today? I don't think antibiotics are really called for but how about adding vitamins to their water? And usually if they are breathing heavy it could be because they are too warm in their brooder.

Hi,
Thank you so much for responding . Its the strangest thing they are acting completely normal eating ,drinking and running around . I was using the 250 watt and I have changed to a 100 watt red bulb and I have been already giving them electrolyte and the probiotic that save a chick packet . They still are breathing a little heavier then I think they should but it does look like there is a little improvement .If they are still doing it on Monday I will take them to be checked we have a vet here in CO that is really close to my house .although he charges quite a bit .The only reason I havent so far is because they are not acting sick at all .

The brooder is actually pretty big I attached two huge boxes they are having a ball running back and forth . I put a bunch of tree branches in too . Chicks are so much fun :)
