I am so excited my Ideal shipment is due to ship on the 10th! They were going to ship my chicks on the 5th but needed to bump me. The only thing is I am not going be available to pick up my chicks from the post office and my husband is going to have to do it. He is a cow man and says the chicks are "your thing" anyway my most important question is we live 15 miles from the post office and he asked me if they could ride in the back of the truck and I told him no, I thought the chicks would get too cold. We live in the Oklahoma panhandle. I told him they would be boxed well so that nothing would leak through.
I am also having everything set up for him so all he has to do is place them in the brooder and introduce them to the food and water and make sure they are warm enough.

I am a nurse and I have a class an hour away that morning so I have to depend on him. I so wanted to be the one to pick them up!

Anyone else order from ideal and get their chicks overnight? I am betting that is when they will arrive since we are fairly close.

Thanks for listening to the rambling!

edited to add, I currently have 4 straight run heavies and 4 keets b/c I couldn't wait for my order to come in! They are about 1 1/2 weeks old and thriving!

My chickes shipped from Ideal some time Monday. The post second shift called late Tuesday afternoon to let me know I could pick them up or I could wait till Wed. morning and pick them at my local post . I drove the extra 10 miles and picked them up. That was 24 hours shipping to Ohio. Very pleased.

I live northeast of Dallas and my order actually got to the PO on their hatch date!!! I was sooo thrilled. I expected them to take atleast a day but both times I ordered from Ideal they came on their hatch date. The first time I wasn't ready. The second time I was ready a day early! I love Ideals chicks. Mine have always came very healthy and active. Never had any probs at all. Good luck with yours!! Don't forget the pics. They don't stay all sweet and fluffy for too long!
