Nine new chicks shipping to us today. Brooder for the garage finished over the weekend and supplies gathered so we're as ready as we're going to be for this new journey! The brooder is built on a 4'x8' sheet of plywood with 2' high walls around. Each end can be removed to clean out easily. There's a middle divider that can be moved to create a small 2'x4' area to hold the chicks when they first come and then shifted to the center to increase that area to 4'x4' as they grow. The middle divider also has a small sliding door that can be opened to let them into a front 4'x4' "mini-run" area for exploration. We're going to need to keep them in the brooder for ~6-8 weeks until we get into our new house where their coop will be so hopefully this will be large enough for them until then. Pics attached if anyone is interested. Thanks for all the help everyone!
