Chicks delivered tomorrow, it's 20 degrees at night, help!

Oh, and about the male-female thing if you just ordered straight run unless you have them sexed you won't really know what they are until they are older

with a hundred chicks you are going to lose some. Sad but it is what it is. Try to keep them up to 90 in the brroder then watch them when they get out from under the light and run around they are warm enough. Do you have room for 100 chickens is the question. 100 chicks will fit easily in a box. I got my chicks last night and the temps froze. they are all under the eco glo brooder but I have to seal off the coop better.

Yes, I have room for 100 chickens. I need to post pics of my coop. I asked my husband for a chicken coop and 6000.00 dollars later, we have a coop that he calls the chicken taj mahal. I didn't want something so fancy, but he says that the coons will get in and kill them all unless it's done right.

to your DH. Coons are terrible and they are clever!

And post pics of the fluffy butts when you get them! I love chick pics...

Has your husband had chickens before? I hope so, I couldn't of imagine starting out with 100 birds as a first timer. You are a brave woman!

I have 15 Australorp coming on the 19th, my guess they will be here the 20th. Super excited, brooders ready, This is my first batch of baby chickens in 30 years! Wanted to ask if anyone has used "grogel" before? It sounds like a good start for them. I already use ACV for all my adult fowl, and ferment the feed for them. I do plan to start my babies on FF immediately.
