Hello all!
I've got twelve chicks and four Pekin ducklings growing up together, they're, oh, I guess going on a month old now. I had them originally on Dumor 20% chick starter, moved them over to 20%Purina FlockRaiser when I got the ducklings. Both said they were good for ducklings, so I didn't think too much about it and mixed the two together. Tossed in some Mazuri waterfowl starter in bowls of water, more for enrichment than anything.
Didn't think too much about it, that is, until I noticed neither bag had niacin content listed.
Realized that maybe my ducklings weren't supposed to be laying down quite so much.
If anyone *knows* the niacin content of either food, I'd be thrilled to have that information. Until then, the whole pen is now on Mazuri waterfowl starter (150 ppm niacin) and will be getting lots of peas as treats.
