She's sitting on a couple of eggs from my Buff Orpington hens plus a collection of Easter Egger, Lavender Orpington and I forget what else from Red Roof Hens.

Hey, that wasn't supposed to happen until Sunday!

From the shell I think it's one of my Buff Orpington hens' eggs. Still have my fingers crossed for some Lavender Orpington, Easter Egger and Blue Laced Red Wyandotte from the eggs I bought to stick under her.

I think this is way less stressful than fussing with an incubator.

i wonder if my barred rocks could hatch eggs, do you think that they could?,,,,,,,,,, that would be awesome, my rhode island reds have never even tried to do it, but mine are production reds too though,,,

I'm sure they could, if they decide to.

I don't know how to convince them to go broody, I just noticed that she was spending extra time in the nest box, and when she stayed in there all day I decided she might as well do something useful and stuck eggs under her.

I have a barred rock broody on day 20 right now! So she sure can go broody on you!

Wendy, our BR's must be twins separated at birth (hatch?)! I'm expecting chicks tomorrow and the wait is killing me!

We're up to four! Definitely a couple of easter eggers and I *think* maybe a Lavender Orpington. They keep eating or crushing the shells, so I can't tell.

Very cute. The oldest is starting to run around, and they're learning to peck at their starter crumbles.

A brownish-yellow one (not sure what that one is)

same one with the all yellow chick that was first to hatch (pretty sure that's a Buff Orpington)

and two black and yellow ones (Easter Eggers?):

She's still sitting on six eggs, we'll see if any more hatch.
