Wish it was that easy to figure out. But what are the odds of four of them choking in succession? .

I have to add this. I was out looking at mine earlier today. They are going to be three weeks on Thursday. Now things could change. But I was looking at them and one of them was doing the neck stretching thing. Several times and then she finally quit. I thought maybe she had something in her throat. There is grit/sand in the brooder.

They have been catching the bugs that are flying into the light as they are in the garage. But I don't know....just checked on them and they all seem fine.......so, I really don't know anything to tell you. Hoping someone comes along and can help you!

I'd try lowering the temps too. Your description of them sounds like they could very well be too hot. I don't keep the temps in my brooders as hot as what is often recommended.

Well that one was the only one that I saw doing the mouth thing, but they are all dead as of this afternoon. Time to dispose of them and sanitize everything. I think they had a respiratory infection. Ive had two older chicks die this week too that were in the same general area. Antibiotics for everyone, it looks like.

I read the whole post and just wanted to say how sorry i am that you lost them and now have to treat everyone, hope everything from here on out gets much better
